I'm so glad I can finally tell you about an amazing project that I've been collaborating in. This autumn will see the long awaited release of 'Madeleine Goes to the Moon'  by Pete Lynas, published by English Rose Publishing and illustrated by moi!  

The book will soon have a website of its own where you can keep up to date with everything Madeleine, but for now you can follow the progress of creating the illustrations here on my blog! 

This first book in the 'Madeleine goes to..' series sees Madeleine voyaging to outer space, exploring the moon in her magical moon buggy and even meeting some aliens! The question is will she still have time to tidy her room?...

what would you like to transform into just for a day? 

Been working hard on storyboards for second book in the 'Xalien the Purple Alien' series. I started with pencil sketches which I went over in Photoshop to make them nice and sharp. Once approved these storyboards will become the bare bones of the final illustration. Working quickly on storyboards helps me stay intuitive and generally gives a smooth line, any issues with perspectives and sizing can be easily changed on the finals and clients obviously like a quick turn around for early visuals! At this stage of illustrating a book I think the most important thing to convey is good sense of character and to make sure the images 'flow' as a sequence.
